This course introduces students to keying on the computer, using proper keyboarding
techniques to develop keyboarding accuracy.
Basic character, paragraph, and page formatting will be covered and students will be taught
how to format and compose basic business documents
using a word processing program. Emphasis will
be placed on the development of touch typing
skills.
BT-110 INTRODUCTION TO COURT REPORTING
3 credits
Introduction to Court Reporting is a course in shorthand theory and technique through the use of a stenograph machine. Emphasis is machine shorthand theory, including proper fingering technique, abbreviations, phrases, oral reading of steno notes, and transcription assignments. Students will increase listening and concentration skills,
which will aid in machine shorthand writing. Students will be introduced to gradual speed building with a high degree of accuracy
BT-111 COURT REPORTING THEORY & TECHNIQUE
3 credits
This course is a continuation of theory and technique from the Introduction for Court Reporting Class (BT-110) through
the use of a stenograph machine. Emphasis continues to be on machine shorthand theory, including proper fingering technique, abbreviations, phrases, oral reading
of steno notes, and transcription assignments. Students will further develop listening and concentration skills, which will aid in machine shorthand writing. Gradual speed building
with a high degree of accuracy will aid students
in automatic writing response. PREREQUISITE: BT-110
BT 112 COURT REPORTING THEORY & TECHNIQUE II

Willwill consist of a review of conflict free theory for writing on a computer

This course introduces the students to the basics of word processing. Students
will learn the necessary features and functions that will assist them in creating and formatting business documents, such as, letters, memos, envelopes, labels, reports, long documents,

This course focuses on the terminology and technology that is prevalent in today’s law office. Students will learn
