MINOR IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT AND THE CULINARY ARTS

  In addition to all other Business Management degree requirements, the Hospitality Management and the Culinary Arts Minor requires successful completion of 21 credits in Hospitality Management and the Culinary Arts courses.

This must consist of:

  • Five required Hospitality Minor courses 15
  • Two Hospitality Minor Management courses 6

 Total 21 credits Hospitality Major Area Elective Courses 15 credits required (courses may be counted as Major Area or Open Electives) HP–101 Introduction to Hospitality HP–102 Rooms Division Management HP–110 Food & Beverage Management HP–130 Hospitality Law HP–201 Technology for Hospitality Hospitality Minor Elective Courses Minimum of 6 credits required (courses may be counted as Major Area or Open Electives) HP–240 Travel Sales, Service & Reservations HP–302 Menu Design & Planning HP–303 Front Office Management HP–304 Convention & Banquet Planning HP–402 Corporate/Business Travel Management HP–404 Facilities Design & Management General Education LA–250, Geography is required as a General Education course. The following courses are strongly recommended: MG–211, Human Resource Management and MG–216, Labor Relations

MINOR IN MARKETING

  In addition to all other Business Management degree requirements, the Marketing Minor requires successful completion of 21 credits in Marketing courses.

This must consist of:

COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS

  The Computer Information Systems degree focuses on the modern corporation’s technique of communicating with itself and the rest of the world. Creating and maintaining this complex system requires specialized computer and technological competencies

  Monroe’s Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems provides graduates with the management skills and the technical know-how needed to keep current with ongoing and rapid advances in the field. Students will learn to implement networks, integrate hardware, software, and human resources in a client-server environment. They will be able to think critically and to communicate and work effectively as part of a team, which is essential in the modern technological office environment.
