音
乐 学 院
音乐学院于2002年1月由音乐系和音乐教育系合并组建而成。现设有8个系、1个中心、1个工作室，即作曲系、音乐学系、管弦系、键盘系、声乐系、民乐系、音乐教育系、电脑音乐与流行音乐系、现代远程音乐教育中心、教学辅助工作室。学院拥有琴房108间和3个实验室：电脑音乐实验室、数码钢琴教室、电子琴教室。
音乐学院现有教职工85人，其中教授4个、副教授31人、讲师21人。有上百人次在国际级、国家级、省部级举办的演唱、演奏、创作等比赛中获奖。音乐学院合唱团，经过严格的专业训练，成为全省公认的、首屈一指的优秀合唱团。
音乐学学科是1996年经省教育厅批准正式建立的"九五"省级重点学科。其建设目标是通过对传统音乐学理论、音乐教学体系以及云南各民族丰富的音乐文化的深入研究，逐步建设具有云南民族特色及地方特色的音乐学理论、教学、创作及表演体系，对全省的音乐教育、音乐理论研究、音乐创作与表演，以及本院的教学改革、科研发展、人才培养、不断提高办学质量等发挥重要的促进作用。音乐学的学科带头人是陈勇教授。
音乐学院是云南省培养高级音乐表演人才和音乐师资的摇篮，为祖国的艺术教育事业作出了卓越的贡献。音乐学院不断扩大办学规模，提高办学效益和办学水平，使音乐学院成为学科齐全、特色突出、教学一流、实力雄厚的高级音乐人才培养基地。

In January20025,the Music Department
and the Music Education Department were amalgamated to form
the Music College,which now has eight departments,one center,one
studio,i.e.the Departments of Composition,Musicology,Winds
and Strings,Keydoards,Vocal Music,Chinese Traditional Music,Music
Education,Computer Music and Popular Music,the center of Modern
Distance Music Education,and Teaching Assistance Studio.The
College has 108 practice rooms and 3 laboratories:computer
music lab,digital piano classroom and electronic organ classroom.
The Music College has 85 faculty members and administrators,including
4 professors,31 associate professors,and 21 lecturers.They
have won more than one hundred awards in singing,playing or
composition contests at the international,state or provincial
level.The choir of the Music College is particularly wonderful.After
many years of strict training,the choir is now widely acknowledged
as the best is Yunnan Province.
The musicology was formally set up as a key discipline at
the province level in 1996 when it gained the ratification
of the provincial Education Council.Its objectives are to
gradually establish ist own systems of music theory,teaching
and writing that have Yunnan,s ethnic and local characteristics
by making profound studies of the traditional music theories,the
systems of music education and Yunnans different ethnic musical
cultures.The discipline group,led by professor ChenYong,has
brought about a great advance in the music education throughout
Yunnan Province,music theory research,composition and performance.
Moreover,the discipline plays an important part in the teaching
reform,the research development,the teacher,s training and
the constant improvement of teaching quality.
The Music College has been the cradle of Yunnan,s first-class
musicians and music educators,making outstanding contributions
to the undertakings of the country,s music and music education.The
Music College will enlarge its scope,promote the efficiency
and level in order to have a complete range of disciplines,outstanding
characteristics,first-class teaching,and solid actual strength
.The Music College will be built in to a base for producing
advanced musicians.
