云南艺术学院简介
云南艺术学院创建于1959年8月，是我国西南地区的一所综合性高等艺术院校，位于云南省昆明市，占地面积240多亩。
云南艺术学院是由云南省主管的一所本科院校，设有音乐学院、美术学院、艺术设计学院、成人教育学院、文华学院5个二级学院和戏剧系、舞蹈系、电影电视艺术系、艺术文化系4个系及一所附属艺术学校共10个教学单位。全日制普通高等教育设有15个本科专业、7个专科专业、3个高职专业，成人高等教育设有6个本科专业、6个专科专业。学院还设有民族艺术研究所、国际艺术交流中心。学院具有招收外国留学生（本科）资格。
云南丰富多彩的民族文化艺术为学院创造了得天独厚的办学条件，学院一方面承担着培养艺术人才的任务，一方面也承担着收集、整理、研究、继承、弘扬民族文化艺术的任务，学院十分注重办学特色和教学质量，确立了教学、研究、创作三位一体的办学模式，努力把学院办成一所既有浓厚的传统文化艺术积淀，又有浓郁民族文化艺术氛围、同时更具有备现代意识锐度的综合性艺术高校。
学院十分重视学科建设，现有戏剧戏曲学、油画学、音乐学3个省级重点学科，正在建设艺术学、舞蹈学、艺术设计学3个省级重点学科。2001年由中国文联出版社出版了《云南艺术学院省级重点学科丛书》两辑共20种。
学院有一支实力较为雄厚的教学、研究、艺术创作和表演的教师队伍，现有教师队伍中高职比为45%。近5年来，学院教师共出版学术专著51部，教材13部，发表论文630多篇，完成省部级课题32项，在国际上获奖36项，获国家级奖275项，省级奖39项。
Yunnan Arts University was founded
in August 1959.It is located in Kunming,the capital city,Yunnan
Province in southwest China.Covering an area of 240mu(40acres),it
is a comprehensive university of arts,offering regular college
courses.
Yunnan Provincial Administration is in charge of Yunnan
Arts University.It consists of five colleges:Music,Fine Art
Design,Adult Education and Wen Hua(government agreed and public
aided);four departments:Drama,Dance,Movies and Television
Art,and Art&Culture,plus a campus high school.In all,the
University has ten teaching units.The full-time general higher
education opens15concentrations for undergraduates who are
expected to get dachelor,s degrees,7concentrations for3-year
or2-year students,and3concentrations for advanced professional
training.The adult higher education has 6 concentrations for4-year
undergraduates and6concentrations for3-year or2-year students.Besides.Yunnan
Arts University has a research institute of ethnic and folk
arts,and an internationl center of artistic exchange.The University
has the qualifications of accepting foreign students and confers
on them BA degrees.
Yunnan Arts University enjoys exceptional advantages from
Yunnan,s rich and colorful ethnic culture and art.On the one
hand,it fosters qualified art personnel.On the other hand,it
collects,collates,researches,carries on and forward ethnic
culture and art.The University attaches great importance to
the uniqueness of running a school and to the teaching quality.Having
teaching,research and creation as an integrated3-in-1 mode,the
administrative staff and faculty have been making great efforts
to build the University in to a comprehensive art university
characterized of rich culture and art traditions,a strong
atmosphere of ethnic culture and art,as well as modern awareness.
The University emphasizes the construction of disciplines.The
study of drama and local opera visual arts and musicology
are 3 key disciplines at the province level.The studies of
art,dance and art design are the three key discilines on the
way to the province,s approval.In2001,The Set of Books about
the Key Disciplines of Yunnan Arts Institute (2 volumes in
20 categories)was published by the press of china Federation
of Literary and Art Circles.
The University has a fully reinforced teachingstaff engaged
in teaching,research,art creation and stage performance.45%
of the faculty members are associate professors or full professors.In
the past five years,the faculty members have published 51
books,13 textbooks,630 theses;completed 32 research programs
assigned by the provincial administration and China Department
of Education,and got 36 international awards,275 awards at
the state level,and 39 at the province level.
