Fast reading is the necessary skill nowadays.With the rapid advancement of all kinds of information that we have to acquire every day,it is a must for us to have effective reading habits and skills to digest them.Once you acquire the special reading habit,you will find its magic in your reading and studying.
When we read in foreign language,very often,we don’t have enoughconfidence in our text comprehension.therefore we have to slow downand tend to read the same line over and over again.However,low reading speed is an obstacle to us in efficiency and having general grasp of the materials. Thus for us college students and people preparing tests, it is very urgent to accelerate reading speed.
Efficient reading requires the use of various problem-solving skills,such as skimming reading and scanning reading,detailed reading and guessing unknown words and so on.The best way to improve your fast reading ability is,of course,to read.Fast reading involves three major areas:comprehension,recognition of new words and flexibility in reading speed.But the single most important influence on how much and how fast you will become a better reader is your attitude.
Practice these tips and practice as often as possible, and don’tforget to measure reading speed at the end to see how fast we can read. It may be not very rewarding at the beginning, but with patience and time, we shall find that we are making progress.
Fast reading become more and more important for our working and studying.All of us want to make great progress on it.No matter your English is good or your English is bad,you must try your best to improve the fast reading.According to my description

All in all,the best ways to improve the fast reading are:
At first, skimming reading and scanning reading. Skimming is reading for the general idea or the big picture. Scanning is reading for specific information.
The second, detailed reading and guessing unknown words. Detailed- Reading shorter texts for detailed information with an emphasis on precise understanding . Often the meaning of unfamiliar words and phrases becomes clear as you continue to read through the text.You can guess the words and phrases.
In the end,You ought to uderstand the main ideas. The reading materials provide several exercises which help you identify and understand the main ideas in a text.
In addition,A good reader should develop a correct method of reading. That is, to train himself to read attentively(not to read back) and silently(not to read aloud), sentence by sentence, not word by word. Whenever meeting a new word, try to guess the meaning from the context. If you determine why you want to learn fast reading,it will help you know where to start.
