在007系列电影中，英国间谍詹姆斯·邦德随身携带的一支钢笔可以射出麻醉飞镖，还可以变为一颗迷你手榴弹。日前，英国多西特郡警察局也开始使用具有007风格的智能笔。当然，这种笔不可能像电影中的那样充满魔力，但它却减少了警察用于文书工作的时间，从而大大提高工作效率。

    据《每日电讯报》3月2日报道，这种笔看似与普通圆珠笔没什么两样，但在靠近笔尖处却装有一架微型照相机。照相机长5毫米，宽3毫米。它可以拍摄下使用者书写的文字内容，然后照相机中的数据通过移动电话传入警察局的电脑，最后电脑再将数据转化成文本。

    这种智能笔的单价为100英镑，由一家名为Magicomm的英国IT公司生产制造。从去年开始，多西特郡警察局成为全英首家试用这种笔的单位，该局目前已为犯罪现场调查小组的30名警员配置了这种笔，并决定还要投资1.7万英镑购置新笔。

    多西特郡警察局表示，有了这种智能笔后，外出办案的警员再也不用返回警察局将现场记录输入电脑中。以往，即使是一桩小的案件也需要花费长达3小时的时间来完成将笔录输入电脑的工作。

    多西特郡警察局局长马丁·贝克说：“这种笔的使用意味着我们在文书等工作中花费的时间减少了，而且还运用了更加巧妙的方法去完成。一般警员总是需要花费四分之一的工作时间来完成各种表格的填写来完成现场记录。但现在，当一桩案件发生时，我们可以在案发现场集中精力调查案情而不是用来填写各种表格。这样我们就可以对受害者或证人提供更多的帮助。”

    警官理查德指出：“其实许多警员对于电脑打字都不在行，这种笔可以完全解决这个问题。”理查德还介绍说：“如果有智能笔辨认不了的文字，你可以从原始的文字记录中查找并修改。即便智能笔出现故障，你也还有原始记录可以查询。”

    使用这种智能笔的警员表示，笔上的照相机很小，这种笔看起来也没有007电影中的那么夸张。

    A police force has begun using a "James Bond-style" pen it hopes will cut down on paperwork and enable officers to spend more time fighting crime.

    The pen works like a normal ballpoint but it has a camera under the nib, which records what the officer has written. The data is then sent via a mobile phone to a central force computer where it is automatically converted into text.

    The force said the process meant officers did not have to return to their station to painstakingly type information from forms on to a computer. Some minor offences could take as long as three hours to process under the old system.

    Dorset police said it was the first force to use the pen. Martin Baker, the chief constable, said: "It means we will spend less time on paperwork and other processes that still have to be done but can be done in a smarter way.

    "Officers typically spend up to a quarter of their time filling in forms. But now where crime is committed we can be out there investigating offences instead of form filling. It means we can focus on the needs of individuals and give a better service to victims and witnesses."

    The ?100 pen, produced by an IT firm Magicomm, is being used by 30 officers from the force's crime scene investigation unit. The force has bought 30 pens at a cost of ?3,000, and has spent a further ?17,000 developing it. 　

    Richard Tubb, the unit's supervisor, said: "Officers aren't generally employed for their typing skills and a lot of them finger-type. This pen can cut all that out."

    He added: "The lens is about five millimetres by three millimetres; it is just at the end of the nib and is tiny. It wouldn't look out of place in a James Bond movie."

    The force had the pen on trial last year and has now begun to use it permanently.

    Mr Tubb said the pen talks to a mobile phone via Bluetooth and a PDF file is then activated on the Dorset police system.

    "If it doesn't recognise a word you can check it with your handwritten notes and fill it in later. If it fails for whatever reason you will still have your original notes to fall back on."
